I seek the kinds of things that push me to expand my writing-oriented skill set; it’s why I got into commercial real estate journalism and spent three years cutting my teeth in a dynamic and fast-paced industry, navigating lots of unstructured time and many deadlines.

That experience helped me appreciate the importance of work-life balance; to achieve a better balance, I left journalism in 2023 to take over the content production process at a local real estate development firm. I streamlined the firm’s newsletter and blog production workflows and made self-published marketing content a vital part of its fund offerings’ marketing strategy. I wrote several blog posts that one of Urban Catalyst’s marketing email subscribers read shortly before reengaging with the firm’s sales team and investing $250,000 of his capital gains into one of its Opportunity Zone funds.
